Mauritania is turning into a powerhouse for green energies. Wind power and solar power are planned in several hundred of gigawatts within the next decades. Given the fact that ample resources of green electricity will be available, DRI processing of iron-ore fits perfectly to produce green HBI. The tremendous offtake-demand worldwide triggers the development of large DRI-plants using either hydrogen or direct electricity or ammonia to reduce ore to raw sponge iron, bracketed for shipping around the world. Mauritania and NIMM offer a super constellation of abundant natural resources waiting to be combined. NIMM is taking the task and develops a green route for emission-free HBI to be supplied to the iron-markets of the world.
